The story behind it
A thousand denials. One tool built to answer them.
Dearbh was built by someone who has been denied by insurers a thousand times — and who got tired of losing appeals he should have won.
Its founder lives with spinal muscular atrophy type 2, and navigates computing, development, and communication through eye-tracking and speech recognition. Like everyone with a rare disease, he has faced the denials that never stop.
It is rarely the one big drug. It is the wheelchair, the standing frame, the speech device, the therapy hours, and the renewal that comes back denied after years of being stable. Each one costs time, money, and energy that a person managing a rare disease cannot spare. Most people give up. Nothing on the market was built for that reality, or by someone who lives it.
So he built the appeal engine he needed, and made it one everyone can use.
Built and used every day with Tobii Dynavox for eye-tracking and Cephable for speech recognition. Its founder is a proud Permobil M3 power wheelchair user, with durable medical equipment provided by Numotion.
