Privacy notice

Effective 1 August 2026. This notice covers the Dearbh website at dearbh.io. Updated on 1 August 2026 to correct the name of the company that runs Dearbh, to name the company that sends our email, and to explain the emails you get when you join the waiting list.

Dearbh is not open yet. Right now this website does one thing that involves your information: it keeps a waiting list. This notice explains what we keep, why, and how to get it removed.

What we keep

If you join the waiting list, we keep only what you typed into that form:

• Your name.
• Your email address.
• Which one description you picked for yourself, for example that you are a caregiver or that you work at a law firm.
• The type of denial you picked, if you chose one. This is a category from a fixed list, such as “Speech devices”. There is no box to type anything, so it can never hold a description of your health, your diagnosis, or your case. Some state laws still treat a category like this as health information, so we handle it that way: we never sell it, we never share it, and you can leave it blank or pick “Prefer not to say”.
• Whether you asked to help test Dearbh early.
• The date and time you agreed to this.

That is the whole list in our waiting-list records. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell anything about you, and nothing you type into the form is used to follow you around the internet.

Three things happen that are not on that list. Our website counts requests by IP address for about a minute, to stop a script from flooding the form. It is not saved and it is not linked to your entry. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs of requests, which include IP addresses. And we use Google Analytics — see below.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits, so we can see which pages people actually use and which places we should serve next. It sets a cookie in your browser and sends Google the page you looked at, roughly where you are, and what kind of device and browser you have. It does that on every page of this site, including the pages named after a city or a state.

Being straight with you about two things. First, this is a tracking cookie and it does build a picture of how the site gets used — an earlier version of this page said we used neither, and that stopped being true the day we turned analytics on. Second, the address of a page you visit here can say something about your situation, because our pages are about denied medical and disability claims. Google receives that address.

What Google never receives from us: your name, your email, what was denied, or anything you typed into the waiting-list form. Those live in our own database and are never sent to an analytics service.

If you would rather not be counted, browser settings that block cookies or analytics scripts stop it, and Google publishes an opt-out add-on. The site works exactly the same either way, and refusing changes nothing about your place on the waiting list.

Why we keep it

To email you when Dearbh opens, and to understand which kinds of people and which kinds of denials to build for first. We keep it because you ticked the box to say we may. That agreement is the only reason we hold it.

Health information

We do not want, ask for, or store your medical records, your denial letter, or anything about your case. The only answer we hold that touches on health is the type of denial you picked, and only if you picked one. Some state laws, such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act, treat a category like that as health information, so we treat it that way too:

• We collect it only if you choose it. Leaving it blank is fine.
• We use it for one thing: deciding which kinds of denials to build for first.
• We never sell it and we never share it. There is no exception to this.
• You can take back your agreement at any time by emailing us, and we will delete it.
• The only company that holds it besides us is Railway, our hosting company, who stores it for us and does nothing else with it.
• It is never put in an email. When we email you, and when our website tells us that someone has joined, the type of denial you picked is deliberately left out. It stays in the database.

Who else sees it

We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers, and no one outside Dearbh Corporation uses it. Two companies handle it for us, both on servers in the United States, and neither is allowed to use it for anything of their own:

• Railway, our hosting company, stores the database.
• Google, through the Google Workspace account that runs our [email protected] mailbox, carries the emails we send you. This is the same company that already delivers any email you send us. No separate email company is involved, and the type of denial you picked is never put in an email at all.

If that ever changes, we will update this page before it does.

The emails we send you

When you join the waiting list we send you one email straight away, to say you are on it. After that we email you when Dearbh opens, and now and then before that to say how the work is going. That is all. Every one of those emails has a link at the bottom that takes you off the list, and you can also just reply and ask. When you come off the list we stop emailing you and mark your entry so it does not happen by accident; if you would rather we deleted it outright, say so and we will.

How we protect it

The form is sent over an encrypted connection. The database is not open to the public internet and only we can reach it. Only the people who need it can see the list. If your information were ever exposed, we would tell you, and we would tell the state authorities the law requires us to tell.

How long we keep it

Until Dearbh opens and we have contacted you, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. If we have not launched and have not heard from you in two years, we delete your entry without being asked. If the product never launches, we delete the whole list.

Your choices

Email [email protected] and ask. You do not need to give a reason. You can ask us to:

• delete your entry;
• send you a copy of what we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• take back the agreement you gave when you signed up.

We answer within 45 days. If we say no, we will tell you why, and you can write back and ask us to look again. We will never treat you differently for asking. Every email we send you will have an unsubscribe link.

Fonts loaded from Google

This website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means your browser contacts Google to fetch them, and Google sees your IP address as part of that request. We do not send Google anything about you, and we do not receive anything back about you.

Children

You must be 18 or older to join the waiting list. Please do not sign a child up. If you are a parent or caregiver appealing for a child, sign up in your own name. If we find out a child under 13 has signed up, we delete the entry.

Changes to this notice

If we change what we collect or why, we will change this page and update the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your email, we will tell you.
